Li v. A Perfect Day Franchise, Inc.

United States District Court, Northern District of California Case Number CV 10-01189 PVT

Case Type: Employment, wage and hour

Status: Class action, First Amended Complaint filed on May 12, 2010

The Sturdevant Law Firm, along with co-counsel, the Law Offices of Adam Wang, filed this class action case against A Perfect Day Spa for its numerous violations of employment law. The suit alleges that Plaintiffs and proposed class members are massage therapists and other workers who work or have worked at various spa locations in the Bay Area. A Perfect Day Spa promised potential employees a high guaranteed income to become massage therapists. Instead, they were hired, charged them thousands of dollars for “training,” treated them as independent contractors while, in fact, being treated as employees and being denied wages and benefits to which they are lawfully entitled under federal and state law.
